From Kabul's Night Markets to Reseda
Bigi Awasaana was born from a family that never stopped cooking — even when the world asked them to stop everything else. Ahmadullah Hashmatullah and his family fled Afghanistan and rebuilt their lives in India, where they ran a restaurant from 2012, keeping the flavors of Kabul alive through every hardship.
In 2025, they brought those same recipes — perfected over generations by chef Hashmatullah Mirza Mohammad — to the streets of Reseda in the San Fernando Valley. Today, we are proud to serve Los Angeles with the most authentic Halal Afghan food. Every skewer, every bolani, every plate of saffron rice carries the memory of a Kabul night market and the love of a family that never let go of home.
